  3. CEA (carcinoembryonic antigen)    elevated in cancers of the colon,  rectum,  lung,  breast,  and
  4.                                                              pancreas
  5. CA-125                                                elevated in cancers of the ovary and uterus
  6. CA 19-9                                               elevated in cancers of the colon,  pancreas,  stomach and liver
  7. CA 15-3                                               elevated in breast cancer
  8. Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)                   elevated in primary liver cancer and some cancers of the testis
  9. HCG (human chorionic                    elevated in some cancers of the testis and ovary and some lung
  10.   gonadotropin)                                   cancers also elevated in pregnancy
  11. Prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP)    markedly elevated in some cases of prostate cancer
  12. Serum protein electrophoresis        helpful in diagnosing prostate cancer,  in detecting recurrent disease
  13.                                                              and in guiding treatment
  14. Serum protein                                    adnormal gamma globulin (monoclonal "spike") is found in
  15.                                                              multiple myeloma
  16. immunoeletrophoresis                     globulin present
  17.   (IgG,  IgA,  IgM)
